Handy InformationPlease feel free to download our 2008 Travellers Guide, a copy of which is included with your final holiday details. This contains lots of useful information for you prior to your departure, travel information and chalet locations within resort for independent travellers and drivers. (NB: THIS IS NOT UP TO DATE FOR 2008/9 SEASON) Chalets Our chalets all vary in age and character and rooms are not standard in size or appearance. Plumbing, storage space, electrics, soft furnishings, space and ratio of comfy chairs to guests maybe more limited than what you take for granted at home. Austrian twins are two mattresses on a double frame, the beds cannot be separated. All our chalets have good domestic hot water supplies, it will, however, go further if baths are not filled too deeply!! Your chalet may also be home to chalet/resort staff and owners may live in, please check at the time of booking if this is important to you. Chalet Staff Day Off Our chalet staff have one day off each week, this is usually Wednesdays in France and Thursday for St. Anton in Austria but your chalet staff will confirm this with you. On this day breakfast and afternoon tea are left out for you to help yourselves but there will be no chalet cleaning and we leave you free to explore local restaurants. Your rep will be happy to make recommendations or book a table on your behalf. Changeover Day We ask all our guests to be sympathetic to the fact that on changeover day it is likely that incoming and outgoing guests will overlap for part of the day. Changing/storage facilities will be provided but these will be shared with both arriving and departing guests. Please co-operate with the staff and ensure you vacate your room by the given time. Children Children are welcome in any of our chalets or chalet hotels at any time. Please bear in mind that our properties were not designed with children in mind and so are not "childproof". Children's behaviour and their safety remain the sole responsibility of their parents at all times. When you have not taken over sole use of a chalet, under 12s are expected to have children's early supper. For more details please look at the Children pages for the relevant resort. Extra Beds Additional beds (camp beds or similar) can be provided in some of our chalets at our discretion, but use of these extra beds will put a strain on chalet facilities. Please check with all the members of your group that they are happy to have more than the recommended number of guests staying in the chalet before asking our reservations staff to arrange additional beds. Footwear All of our chalets operate a "No shoes indoor" policy so please ensure you take your slippers or suitable indoor shoes. This is for your safety and comfort as much as the benefit of the chalet. Laundry facilitiesOur chalets do not have washing machines or laundry facilities for use by guests but there are launderettes in all of our resorts. Linen & towelsBed linen and hand and bath towels are provided but not changed during the week. In those chalets that benefit from "Chalet extras", towels are changed mid week. If we are providing you with a travel cot please bring your own cot linen. Meal Times Breakfast is served from 08.00 until 09.30. Afternoon tea is served generally from 4.30 but during the early part of the season tea may be served earlier at 4pm. Dinner is served six out of seven evenings promptly at 8pm. Children's early supper is served around 6pm, this is for all children under 12 years unless an upgrade has been paid. Saunas/Steam rooms/jacuzziFor those chalets that benefit from these facilities, access is generally limited to between 16.30 & 19.00 and not on staff day off or arrival/departure day. Your chalet staff will confirm all these details to you. Security As with most chalet holidays, our chalets are not generally locked and few bedrooms have keys. (Where possible keys will be provided for a small deposit). We therefore recommend you do not take valuables on holiday with you. Ski CarriageThis can be pre booked at £20 per set or £25 if booked at the airport. Smoking To ensure everyone's comfort and safety, smoking is not permitted inside any of our chalets or chalet hotels, this includes the Isba and Chamois D'Or bars. If you have any specific enquires about your chalet or holiday please call our reservations team. |
